  .Thallus off-white, thin, smooth, dull. Ascomata scattered, conspicuous, black, sulcate, sessile, straight, curved or sinuous, usually simple, rarely branched, lacking a thalline margin, 1–3 mm long, 0.2–0.4 (–0.5) mm wide, the broadest lirellae conspicuously sulcate. Proper exciple completely carbonised. Hymenium 75–125 µm thick, not inspersed. Ascospores 8 per ascus, irregularly biseriate, transversely 8–13-locular, (28–) 40–50 (–55) × 7–10 µm, I+ blue.
CHEMISTRY: No lichen compounds detected.
     
  Corticolous in eastern Qld and N.S.W.; also in Brazil, Guyana, Dominica, the U.S.A., Indonesia and the Hawaiian Islands.
